Lace Wigs Answers
|
|
13.
|
Lace wigs are made with a mesh-like lace material in the front, around
the edges or all over in which individual hair strands are hand-tied. The
lace is designed to blend in with your own scalp creating a natural,
realistic looking hairline. When properly worn, with special adhesives, the
hairline can be so realistic looking and virtually undetectable, giving the
appearance of natural growing hair. These are the same wigs that many
celebrities wear.
|
|
14.
|
Lace Front wigs have lace only in the front, creating a realistic and
natural looking hairline. Full Lace wigs contain lace throughout or around
the entire base making it possible to wear your unit in a ponytail and
creating a realistic and natural looking hairline around the entire unit.
For added comfort, we do recommend stretch lace in the back. If you order a
full lace unit, the base cannot stretch to accommodate your growing hair.
|
|
15.
|
Swiss lace is a bit thinner and
more delicate than French lace, so therefore French lace is recommended for
first time wearers. However they both offer a natural look.
|
|
16.
|
Yes, however you have to wear your
hair as flat as possible (i.e. in cornrows) underneath. It is also best to
have your own scalp showing (parts) when you wear the unit as it creates a
more natural, realistic look. I tends to look very unnatural if you have
dark hair and lighter skin, but when you part your hair, you see a dark
scalp. If you are unable to show your own scalp through your parts, wig caps
work perfectly to conceal your hair color and create a natural scalp color.
|
|
17.
|
Yes, you can continue to do your usual activities with the unit on. Please
avoid swimming or getting the unit wet with water or sweat for 24 hours
after applying adhesives or tapes.
|
|

Absolutely! Whether you have
experienced hair loss due to chemotherapy, alopecia, trichatilomania, body
dysmorphia, burns, etc., our staff can help you get your customized unit.

|
19.
|
Yes, this hair is 100% human and
can be styled the same way you would do your own natural hair. Your unit can
be permed, bleached or dyed however be sure to avoid getting any chemicals
on the base. Don't forget, just as with our own natural hair, it can become
dry and damaged when chemically processed. Be sure to regularly deep
condition the hair on the unit and avoid daily use of heated appliances
whenever possible.

|
With proper
care, your lace wig can last about a year. Swiss Lace is the most durable
and lasts longer than the Fine French Lace, which is thinner and more
undetectable.
|
|
21.
|
Each person has their own specific
design needs based on their life-style and how undetectable they want their
unit to be. The finer the lace, the less detectable however the less
durable, especially with daily adhesives. Thin Skin is less detectable to
the eye but a bit more detectable to touch than lace. In addition, thin skin
does not allow proper ventilation because it is not a breathable material.
|
|
22.
|
We offer 100% customizable lace wig systems and from time to time we do
offer IN STOCK lace wigs, in limited quantities.
|
|
23.
|
Please note each attachment method depends on your individual pattern of
hair loss, personal life-style and desire for security. If you are new to
wearing lace wigs, your specific attachment needs and method should be
discussed with a professional stylist.
When you receive your unit, it will have about 4 inches of extra lace around
the perimeter. Your stylist should place the unit on your head and determine
how much lace should remain before cutting away. After your unit has been
trimmed, your stylist will apply an adhesive to the hairline, being careful
to not get the adhesive in your hair (please note that some adhesives will
require an application on the hairline AND the lace). The lace is then
applied over the adhesive and secured by rolling the back end of a hair comb
over the lace to ensure that everything is completely flat. Depending on the
type of adhesive used, you may need to hold the unit in place and allow the
adhesive to dry. A hair dryer on a cool setting will work. Once the glue has
completely dried, the hair can be cut and/or styled.
You will find that everyone has their own style of applying lace wigs. While
one person may choose to apply the adhesive and unit inch by inch, others
may choose to apply it to the entire front hairline before putting on the
unit. Some prefer to adhere some of the baby hairs down to help conceal the
lace and/or "shine" that some adhesives create, however, some stylists
prefer to "airbrush" the hairline.
For clients with more active lifestyles, your stylist might suggest adding a
few "stitches" to further secure your unit. Just like with a weave, a needle
and thread is used to add a few stitches to attach the unit to your tracks.
In the event that your unit is ever pulled or snagged, it will minimize the
stress on your sensitive hairline skin. To avoid damage to the hair or the
unit's base, please do not attempt to remove these stitches yourself!

Remy Hair Answers
|
|
25.
|
It’s hair that is in its purest
state, raw and unprocessed. Virgin hair is Remy hair. Each
strand is hand selected and strands are kept in a uniform direction.
|
|
26.
|
Remy hair is selected “root end
first “ from one donor. Cuticles are kept intact and each hair strand is
kept in one direction. This process is necessary for stronger,
healthier, long lasting, beautiful hair.
|
|
27.
|
Single drawn hair is cut and
gathered as a ponytail from one donor. Therefore, there are a few natural
shorter strands within a bundle of hair. The very short hairs have been
removed. That’s why the hair may be sold 15” to 18” because there are a few
15” to 17” strands within the bundle. Many people are misinformed that the
shorter hairs are split ends.
Double drawn hair contains only hair of the same length. This type of hair
is double processed to draw out the shorter lengths. Sometimes it is
improperly cut. It can take 10 lbs. of hair to produce 1 lb. of 18”
double drawn . This is very expensive one as this procedure is done by hand.
Thus, 4 oz. of 18” inches of Remy hair has hair lengths of 18" only.
|
|
28.
|
It is loose hair that has been taken and applied to a weft.
|
|
29.
|
The hand-tied weft is the most exclusive on the market. It is not the
traditional machine weft. This weft is micro-thin in size, very strong, and
undetectable. These wefts must not be cut. When installing in your hair we
suggest folding the weft over and continuing to sew until end of weft. If
you cut the weft it should be sealed with fabric glue or nail glue to
prevent unraveling, or you can simply tie off the ends. This is the best
quality and highly sought after weft on the market. The weft eliminates most
shedding.
|
|
30.
|
This depends on the texture of
hair you select as well as the style you would like to achieve. Typically if
you are simply going for added volume 4oz is enough and at least 8oz to 10
oz for a full head. Please keep in mind that the longer the length the
less volume there is so you should buy accordingly.
